How To Do Black Satin Ribbon
Black satin ribbon is used quite often to dress up wedding stationery. There are many different sizes of ribbon that can be used as a belly band to either hold the invitation closed or to hold all the pieces of the invitation suite together. Any way you do it, it always adds an elegant touch to your stationery. Check out some of the ways we used black satin ribbon in some of our wedding stationery pieces.
All Tied Up
Black and white invitations are always classic and elegant. This invitation suite was designed for a September wedding at the Rockleigh in New Jersey. The main invite is printed on white paper and glued to a matte black backer. Thin black satin ribbon is wrapped around each invitation twice and then tied into a small bow. The Details booklet and Response card are slipped underneath the ribbon in the back to complete this stacked invitation suite.

A custom monogram is printed at the top of the invite.
Classic Black and White
When it comes to wedding invitations, you can never go wrong with a black and white color story. A border is printed around the main invite, framing all of the important information printed in a mix of fonts. The insert cards are held neatly in the pocket on the side panel of the enclosure. To hold these invitations closed, we wrapped them in black satin ribbon. Lastly, a monogrammed tag is placed in the center of the ribbon to complete the invitation suite. Black ribbon on a black enclosure gives these wedding invites a traditional, yet modern feel.

Beautiful Oversized Bows
Oversized bows, bold fonts and an image of the venue all come together perfectly in this invitation suite. This bi-fold style invitation has the main invite on one side and all of the other wedding day details on the other side. To hold the invitation closed, we used thick black satin ribbon and tied it into a bow. The mail back Response card and RSVP envelope are held in the back under the ribbon.

Elegant Dinner Menus
We absolutely love these menus designed for the wedding reception. The couple also chose to include a personal note to their guests, thanking them for being a part of their first day as husband and wife. To hold these two pieces together we used a 5/8 inch black satin ribbon and tied it into a delicate bow. Both the menus and note have the same custom monogram printed at the top. Such a beautiful presentation for each guest to find at their place setting.
