The Classics: Black & White Invites

When it comes to weddings and other formal events, a black and white color palette is synonymous with timeless elegance. You can use formal script and print fonts to create a more traditional look or play with fun, bold fonts to give it a more modern vibe. Add in accents like wax seals, envelope liners and vellum to really customize your invites. Keep reading to see some ways our couples have made black and white wedding invites their own.

Dance the Night Away

This couple did something really special to personalize their wedding invitations. Their names are printed in the groom’s handwriting, as well as the title on the Details card and the monogram inside the small disco ball at the top of the invite. Another fun addition to this suite is the QR code inside the larger disco ball on the envelope liner. When scanned, it will take their guests to a site that plays the song “Boogie Shoes.”  What a cool way to get your guests in the mood to celebrate!

The groom’s handwriting is also featured on the Details card.

Guests will find a little surprise when they open up these wedding invites.

Black and White Venue Etching

An etching of St. Catharine’s Church, in Spring Lake, New Jersey is printed in black at the bottom of this black and white panel pocket invite. Traditional script and print fonts are used throughout the suite. The insert cards are placed inside the pocket on the back of the enclosure. Clean, classic, elegant and just perfect for a wedding at Clarks Landing Yacht Club, in Point Pleasant Beach, New Jersey.

An image of the church is printed at the bottom of the main invite.

Traditional script and print fonts are used throughout the invitation suite.

Modern Vibes

Wrapping your invites in vellum is always a great way to dress them up. A black paper belly band with a monogram printed in white ink gives this invitation a modern feel. The main invite is printed on white paper and glued to a black backer. We designed an additional insert card for the rehearsal dinner, which also features white ink printing and a graphic of a little tower of champagne glasses.

Romance & Roses

Gold accents, a beautiful script font and a rose wax seal come together to create these romantic black and white wedding invitations. The main invite features letterpress printing, in both modern script and traditional print fonts. The Details booklet has a timeline of wedding day events, as well as the accommodations information for the guests. The RSVP card features a QR code for the guests to respond through.

Letterpress printing was used for the main invite, in both print and script fonts.

The finishing touch to this invitation suite is a black wax seal with a rose placed right in the center of the satin ribbon belly band.
