Here at Art Paper Scissors, we absolutely love bringing a couples’ wedding theme to life. From save-the-dates to invitations to thank you cards and everything in between, Art Paper Scissors is a couple's one-stop-shop for all things wedding stationery.

Today we are chatting with Bethany and Nick O’Leary. These two tied the knot in October 2018 at the jaw-dropping waterfront Clarks Landing Yacht Club, with a beautiful church ceremony and a love-filled celebration. Together, we created the perfect nautical-inspired wedding invitations and day-of stationery, filled with navy hues, rope accents and a custom anchor logo.

Bethany is sharing all of the details of their wedding day - read on and swoon looking at these beautiful photos, captured by Jessica Erb Photography.

Art Paper Scissors: Tell us about your wedding day. The date, place and any extra fun details you would like to share.

Bethany: Our wedding day was October 20th, 2018. We got married at Saint Joseph’s Church in Toms River, and had our reception at Clarks Landing Yacht Club in Point Pleasant. Fun fact: we celebrated our ten year anniversary just two days prior to our wedding!

Art Paper Scissors: How do you remember that special day? Any great memory that stands out?

Bethany: The day was perfect. After 10 years together, we were just excited to make it official. When people say your wedding day goes by SO FAST, they aren't kidding! One special memory that stands out is from the morning of our wedding. I had special gifts for my parents, and just as I was about to give it to them my phone rang and it was my fiancé, Nick. I had a Carrie Bradshaw moment, and picked up wondering why he was calling on our wedding day. He literally just called to say hi, tell me he was on his way to his parents house and wanted to see how my morning was going. All of the nerves from the day were gone in that second. I was quickly reminded that this day was about our love, and I was FINALLY marrying my best friend.

Art Paper Scissors: What is your favorite part about being married?

Bethany: Honestly, just living life together, making memories, traveling and enjoying the little things.

Art Paper Scissors: Describe your wedding theme and feel in 3 words. Why did you choose this theme?

Bethany: Elegant, Traditional, Coastal.

We wanted all of our guests to attend our wedding and think "this seems like Beth & Nick." So upon our first visit to Clarks Landing, we knew immediately it was the perfect location for our reception. It was the perfect mix of elegance with a coastal vibe, overlooking the Manasquan River. I wanted a traditional wedding in a church, and we felt St. Joseph’s was the perfect location since we had met in high school and graduated there merely 10+ years earlier.

Art Paper Scissors: How did you decide on your wedding invitation design?

Bethany: I wanted our wedding invitation (and all signage) to match the theme of the day. I had a vision for our invitations, and searched for months, but was unable to find exactly what I was looking for. When Lisa was recommended to me, I reached out immediately. She was hands down AMAZING. I explained to her exactly what I was looking for, and she created three samples for me. We ended up taking small pieces from each one to create the final product and it was PERFECT. She was so easy to work with, and really takes pride in what she does.

Art Paper Scissors: What design element or feature was a "must have" for your wedding invitations?

Bethany: I didn't exactly have a "must have" element or feature, I just had a vision for what I wanted it to look like. At our first meeting, I immediately knew I wanted to incorporate an invitation that included everything a guest needed in one. Lisa had fun invitation pockets, which made it easy for guests to take it with them on their way to the church or reception. I know we always seem to grab the invitation as we're heading out the door in case we need any addresses, etc., so our invitations were designed with pockets on the back to hold reception information, hotel information and directions.

Art Paper Scissors: What advice do you have for other brides and grooms looking to incorporate their theme or personal elements into their wedding invitations?

Bethany: Go with your gut! Lisa is amazing at what she does, and if you explain in detail or show her some ideas - she will bring it to life! Everyone has a vision for their wedding day - and the invitations and signage should reflect that.
