Here at Art Paper Scissors, we absolutely love bringing a couples’ wedding theme to life. From save-the-dates to invitations to thank you cards and everything in between, Art Paper Scissors is a couple's one-stop-shop for all things wedding stationery.

Today we are chatting with Allie and Kyle. They tied the knot in October 2019 with a stunning ceremony at Cathedral Basilica of the Sacred Heart in Newark, with a beautiful celebration at the elegant Park Savoy Estate afterwards. We loved being part of their special day, from the save-the-dates and Allie’s bridal shower invitations to their wedding day stationery.

Allie and Kyle are sharing all of the details of their wedding day - read on and just fall in love with their beautiful photos, captured by Gabelli Studio.

Art Paper Scissors: Tell us about your wedding day. The date, place and any extra fun details you would like to share.

Allie: Our wedding was Friday, October 11, 2019. The ceremony was at the Cathedral Basilica of the Sacred Heart in Newark, NJ. The reception was at the Park Savoy in Florham Park, NJ. We picked the cathedral for the ceremony because that is where I had my nursing pinning ceremony in May of 2015. I also attended a breast cancer foundation gala at the Park Savoy Estate, was familiar with the location and it was close to the cathedral, so we decided on that.

Art Paper Scissors: How do you remember that special day? Any great memory that stands out?

Allie: I remember our wedding day as beautiful and fun. I have many memories that stand out to me. One of the first was when I was getting my makeup done and my bouquet arrived and was handed to me. It was so beautiful and I was so happy with the way it came out, it made me very excited.

Next was when I saw Kyle for the first time for our first look. I was so nervous to see him and to see what he thought of everything, but it was so sweet. He said I looked perfect and we kissed and hugged. It was very special to have that moment together before we went to the cathedral.

Another memory that stands out to me was when Kyle and I were about to walk out together into our reception, we heard our music start to play and Kyle got all choked up, which made me get emotional as well. Our first dance was my favorite part of the night though. We had choreographed our dance the night before the wedding in our hotel room and it was a fun bonding moment for us. When we performed our dance it was so much fun and perfect!

Art Paper Scissors: What is your favorite part about being married?

Allie: The everyday life adventures that we share together, such as house renovations, having dinner together, relaxing on the couch and watching movies, and having date nights.

Art Paper Scissors: Describe your wedding theme and feel in 3 words. Why did you choose this theme?

Allie: Elegant, classic, and traditional. I have always wanted a traditional wedding since I was younger and pictured my wedding to be in a church. When we found the Park Savoy Estate, we loved how elegant it looked. It’s an old estate and was renovated into a wedding venue. It’s beautiful inside and out and definitely went with what I was looking for in a venue. I knew I wanted a princess dress and that’s exactly what I got, crown and all! It all went together with the cathedral and The Park Savoy Estate in such an elegant way. We also made the reception black tie invited to have a classy and elegant feel.

Art Paper Scissors: How did you decide on your wedding invitation design?

Allie: We decided on our wedding invitation design based on our theme. We wanted our invitation to reflect the theme of our wedding, which was classic, elegant and traditional. We stayed with a neutral color scheme of black and white to stay with the feel of the black tie invited. We decided on the larger square card stock because it looked the most elegant and grand. We added black lace around the invitation, which made it so sweet.

Art Paper Scissors: What design element or feature was a “must have” for your wedding invitations?

Allie: Letterpress font was a must have for our wedding invitations. It is very elegant and went with our theme of black tie invited.

Art Paper Scissors: What advice do you have for other brides and grooms looking to incorporate their theme or personal elements into their wedding invitations?

Allie: Advice that I would give to other brides is to keep it simple and less is more. Our wedding theme was elegance and traditional so with stayed with that and did not have too many color schemes or designs on the invitation to keep it simple and classy. Go with your gut, because as soon as I saw the sample of our invitation I fell in love with it and that’s what we ended up choosing.

P.S. Art Paper Scissors did a beautiful job with our save the dates, bridal shower, wedding invitations, and thank you cards. They did everything we asked and more and everything came out perfect. The customer service was wonderful and we will definitely be back for future events!
