September Bride of the Month: Kasandra Bernstein

Here at Art Paper Scissors, we absolutely love bringing a couples’ wedding theme to life. From save-the-dates to invitations to thank you cards and everything in between, Art Paper Scissors is a couple's one-stop-shop for all things wedding stationery.

Today we are chatting with our September bride of the month, Kasandra. The new Mrs. Bernstein and her husband Michael tied the knot in June 2019 with a beautiful summer celebration at Clarks Landing Yacht Club. We truly loved working with this couple on their sweet, rustic wedding invitation design, featuring blue watercolor florals.

Kasandra is sharing all of the details of their wedding day - read on and enjoy these beautiful photos of the new Mr. and Mrs., captured by Heyn Photography.

Art Paper Scissors: Tell us about your wedding day. The date, place and any extra fun details you would like to share.

Kasandra: We got married June 30th, 2019, at Clarks Landing in Point Pleasant. It was a beautiful day down the shore; the sun was shining and the weather was warm, but the breeze gave way to a cool day. We arrived at the wedding on a trolley, which was a great time for our bridal party to get together and unwind after a hectic morning! Our departing guests also loved it and had fun singing songs to keep the party going even after the wedding.

Art Paper Scissors: How do you remember that special day? Any great memory that stands out?

Kasandra: To me, the day was simply flawless. The memory that stands out the most is my ceremony. Looking at my handsome husband speak words of love to me straight from his heart, surrounded by all those we love, was the most magical moment in my life.

Art Paper Scissors: What is your favorite part about being married?

Kasandra: My favorite part of being married is creating traditions; new must-dos for holidays and vacations has been so exciting. Also, the partnership that comes along with marriage; you become a part of a two-person team that can tackle seemingly anything.

Art Paper Scissors: Describe your wedding theme and feel in 3 words. Why did you choose this theme?

Kasandra: I would describe my theme as rustic, joyous and dreamy. Michael and I are avid hikers and we wanted to reflect that in our décor. We had various wooden signs, our cake resembled a birch tree and our cake topper displayed “love at first hike.” We also had soft tones which gave way to the dreamy look and every time we looked around the room, we were met with warm smiles.

Art Paper Scissors: How did you decide on your blue watercolor floral wedding invitations?

Kasandra: When planning the wedding we knew the colors we wanted were soft blue, mauve and white. Lisa understood our vision and showed us the blue watercolor floral which was exactly what we had envisioned. We couldn’t have been happier with how everything turned out!

Art Paper Scissors: What design element or feature was a “must have” for your wedding invitations?

Kasandra: The design element which was a “must have” was the response card Mad Libs! We wanted something different, and for our guests to have fun with responding. Everyone loved the idea and the responses we got back were absolutely hilarious; truly a memory we’ll get to hold on to forever.

Art Paper Scissors: What advice do you have for other brides and grooms looking to incorporate their theme or personal elements into their wedding invitations?

Kasandra: Stick to your vision and bounce ideas off your partner! Michael was so helpful throughout the process and it was great to work out different ideas with him. Teamwork truly makes the dream WORK!

Thank you, Kasandra and Michael! We are so thrilled your wedding day was magical and filled with joy. Congratulations!
