April Bride of the Month: Jennifer Schill

Meet our April bride of the month, Jennifer. The new Mrs. Schill and her husband Christopher tied the knot in November 2018 with a perfect celebration at South Gate Manor. We are still swooning over their gorgeous navy, blush and gold wedding invitations, with a pop of romantic watercolor florals, perfect for their elegant wedding day.

Jennifer is sharing all of the details of their big day - planned perfectly with SociaLife. Read on and enjoy these gorgeous photos, beautifully captured by Heyn Photography!

Art Paper Scissors: Tell us about your wedding day. The date, place and any extra fun details you would like to share.

Jennifer: Our wedding day was everything I could ever dream of. Chris and I got married on 11.11.18. Since I was a little girl, I always made a wish when I saw 11.11 come up, so it was a sign when the venue suggested the date. We were married at St. Denis Church in Manasquan, NJ with our reception being held at South Gate Manor in Freehold, NJ. Prior to the ceremony, we did our first look at Spring Lake Library and bridal party photos at Edel Haus Alpaca Farm, where I met my new furry best friend, GT.

Art Paper Scissors: How do you remember that special day? Any great memory that stands out?

Jennifer: Taking pictures with an alpaca was definitely one of the highlights of the day!

Another memory that stands out was when we were at South Gate Manor waiting to be announced as husband and wife. It was a great feeling standing in the hallway with our parents and bridal party joking and laughing.

It really is true when people say your day goes flying by, so it is nice remembering those small moments that were shared together with family and friends.

Art Paper Scissors: What is your favorite part about being married?

Jennifer: All the new life moments that you get to share together. We are expecting our first baby this August.

Art Paper Scissors: Describe your wedding theme and feel in 3 words. Why did you choose this theme?

Jennifer: Traditional, classic and romantic.

I always knew I wanted a traditional wedding with a church ceremony in honor of my grandmother. St. Denis reminded me of the church my grandmother and I attended for Sunday mass. When Chris took me to South Gate Manor to look at the venue, I knew this was the perfect setting for my fairy tale reception.

Art Paper Scissors: How did you decide on navy and gold wedding invitations with watercolor florals?

Jennifer: Our wedding colors were navy blue with blush and gold accents. Navy was chosen after Chris’s alma mater (Penn State) and I always loved neutral tones with gold accents.

Art Paper Scissors: What design element or feature was a “must have” for your wedding invitations?

Jennifer: I have always believed that your invitations set the tone for the wedding, as that is one of the first items seen by your guests. I wanted a traditional invitation with elements that could be carried throughout the wedding. We received many compliments in regards to the invitations and how all the elements tied together through our ceremony and reception.

Art Paper Scissors: What advice do you have for other brides and grooms looking to incorporate their theme or personal elements into their wedding invitations?

Jennifer: Do your planning together! I can honestly say Chris helped throughout the entire process and helped in choosing all the elements for our special day. Working as a team made the process simple and you will be surprised with how many great ideas your future husband actually may have! Chris is the one who suggested the pocket fold on the invitations.
