Love + Pups: Including Your Dog on Your Wedding Day

We are big dog lovers here at Art Paper Scissors - just look at our sweet mascot Chewy's adorable face! He's here to greet our couples and make everyone feel welcome at the Art Paper Scissors office.

When our brides and grooms want to include their four-legged friends in their wedding stationery, we are absolutely delighted. We are even more excited when they tell us their plans to bring their dogs to their wedding! For many couples, their pet is an extension of their family, and can't imagine sharing this big moment without them.

From save-the-dates to thank you cards, we love to include photos of our couples posing with their beloved pups. It's a sweet, personal touch to include for your wedding guests, and really makes them feel part of this special time in your life.

Have you ever wanted to include your fur baby on your wedding day - but didn't know where to start? We spoke with the amazing team at SociaLife to see how brides and grooms can incorporate their sweet dog on their wedding day:

"Before you found your forever love, you had puppy love. Your pup deserves some credit on your big day for sticking by your side in sickness and in health, so why not share the spotlight?

Furry friends are often considered important members to a family and make photo ops that much more precious. Whether you need a stand-in for a ring bearer, or can’t imagine saying “I Do” without your pup by your side, there are many ways to make your pooch part of the big day:

  • Include them in the proposal.

  • Let them be a part of your engagement shoot. It is the perfect opportunity for your save-the-dates!

  • Surprise your guests by including your pup in the ceremony. Add a cute bow tie or tutu and they’ll be just as spiffy as the wedding party.

  • Don't forget to make sure your venue allows pets, and keep the photographer in the loop to make sure things go as smooth as possible."

APS and SociaLife couple Jessica and Kevin included their perfect pups in their boho-rustic wedding day at Waterloo Village, and it couldn't have been more perfect. Photos captured by Michelle Wolfe Photography.

The best part for the APS team? Creating these thank you postcards with their dog featured front and center.
